Quaterly WDA Meeting
Location: DoubleTree hotel, Rockville, MD
Date &Time: 10:00am-4:00pm, Sep 3rd, 2007
Topic: Making the Web Dynamic: Javascript Bootcamp
Javascript puts the “dynamic” in Dynamic HTML. It’s also a key ingredient in Web Applications, web pages that act like desktop applications (e.g. Google Calendar). If you want anything on your page to change after it’s loaded (e.g. a popup), you’ll need Javascript code to make it happen. Javascript is also the development language of many graphics applications: Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Flash, etc. If you’re a designer and you want (or need) to learn a programming language, Javascript is a great one to start with, because it instantly gives you power in many applications that you already use. This is a “101” session that assumes you have no programming experience. It will walk you through the basics of Javascript development, starting from first principles.
