Green Status - Um... Hell yeah.

Tahoe Community College has just received our Green status. We developed this website to offer up best practices for other institutions that would also like to go green. We've organized the best practices into three categories - Renovating, Recycling, and Re-thinking.

Renovating will tell you in great detail how we updated our buildings. In doing so we looked at modern ways to conserve and better utilize resources like light and water. Recycling will discuss our efforts to collect items that can be collected for recycling purposes. As a school, you can imagine how much paper there is!

Finally, rethinking is critical. In reviewing other best practices we found that in order to sustain your green efforts, the varied stakeholders really have to buy-in. Learning this we started programs to help energize the student body, faculty, and community members. Learn more about that in the re-thinking area.

If you'd like updates from the school, feel free to sign up on our contact page for updates. We offer site visits every month and also have people you can speak with about the varied green topics.
