Introduction

WDA is a non-profit professional association, is the industry's recognized leader in providing educational and certification standards for Web professionals. WDA's initiatives now support more than 100 official chapters representing over 160,000 individual members in 106 countries. WDA's accomplishments include the industry's first guidelines for ethical and professional standards, Web certification and education programs, specialized employment resources, and technical assistance to individuals and businesses.

Chapter and Community Objectives

Strives to bring all local Web specialists together to leverage knowledge and strengthen professional networking opportunities. Assists with promoting our members' services to businesses and employers. Develops and maintains a chapter Web site to establish a communication medium between members, community, and businesses. As well as, provides professional development programs and resources at the local level.

All members of the WDA hold dual membership at the international and chapter levels. It is WDA's global network of official chapters that provides for the true internationalization of our Association and the Web profession. It is the individual member's commitment toward these objectives and philosophy which will bond the Association and contribute toward the advancement of our profession.

Chapters strive to maximize the use of WWW technology to conduct meetings, develop professional contacts, present online workshops and courses, and make available Webmastering and community resources.

9/8/07 For the September 8th meeting, we will be having a special gathering at Circus Flora! We will NOT be meeting at One City Place. For information on attending "STLWEBDEV at the Circus" email webmaster@wda.org

7/9/07 We're continuing with the new format this month. Any suggestions for special-interest session topics can be sent in advance of the meeting to topics@stlwebdev.org. We're looking at award winners at the Webby Awards as this month's main presentation.

5/3/07 A new format for the group's monthly meetings will be tried at this month's meeting. Special-interest sessions where individuals can network on requested topics will be held in the middle of the meeting instead of at the beginning. The main presentation will follow. See you there!
